Responsible Office/Department:

Effective Date of Policy:
Fall 2022

Scope:

Daemen Community

Purpose:

Establish parameters and timeline around accreditation cycle and accrediting bodies.

Narrative:

Daemen University is authorized by the Board of Regents of the State of New York to award degrees and certificates for programs registered with the New York State Board of Regents. It is an accredited member of the Middle States Commision on Higher Education. Documentation regarding this incorporation and accreditation may be requested from the office of the President. A number of academic programs and organizational memberships are maintained by the university as well.  The most up to date list of this information is found in our annual catalogs and on our About/Fast Facts webpage.

Our office of Institutional Effectiveness and Systems Integration (IESI) coordinates and supports the facilitation of institutional and program accreditations.  They are also responsible for keeping the information updated in our catalogs and webpage. IESI plays a key role in the continued institution  accreditation reaffirmation process which is on a nine year cycle. This self study process engages many of our university community members for its successful completion.

In the case of individual academic program accreditation the primary coordination of the accreditation process is housed in the appropriate academic department and colleges. The IESI office provides support for those faculty when requested as well as any needed institutional data support.
