Policy Author:
Student Affairs

Responsible Office – Department:
Student Affairs

Effective Date of Policy:
June 25, 2026

Policy Narrative

Residents are responsible for keeping their residential space in a safe and healthy condition. The Office of Housing and Residence Life will perform regular inspections of residential spaces to ensure compliance with University standards of health and safe living practices. The dates and approximate times of these inspections will be communicated to residents at least 48 hours in advance and will be conducted by two (2) staff members from Student Life. Violations of policies found will be documented and addressed through the conduct review process. These inspections include Collegiate and Snyder Park, though inspection dates may differ than those for Main Campus.

Purpose of Policy

To create and maintain an equitable environment where students have the optimal opportunity to succeed academically, personally, and professionally and where any and all Daemen University Community members feel safe, valued, and respected.

This policy’s virtual location is in the Residential Living Policies section (Section 4) of the Student Handbook –  https://www.daemen.edu/student-life/student-affairs/student-handbook/section-4-residential-living-policies.
