Policy Narrative
Residents are responsible for completing a work order through their MyDaemen for repairs needed to their residence hall assignment. In emergency situations, residents should notify Campus Safety. Emergencies can include but are not limited to: no heat, no hot water, any leaks or flooding, etc. In the event of a residential emergency concern, residential staff will provide updated communication as needed. Students are expected to comply with requests from University personnel, including but not limited to Facilities, Residence Life, and Campus Safety. This may include temporary residence hall reassignment or Maintenance work within spaces.
Residents are responsible for reporting pest concerns immediately, and appropriate measures will be implemented. Residents will be held financially responsible for negligence or failure to adhere to health and safety policies, including but not limited to: not reporting pest sightings promptly, improper food storage, and failure to adhere to cleanliness or pest control measures provided by University officials or designee.

To create and maintain an equitable environment where students have the optimal opportunity to succeed academically, personally, and professionally and where any and all Daemen University Community members feel safe, valued, and respected.
