Effective Date of Policy:

Policy Narrative

With the exception of fish, pets of any kind are not permitted in the residence halls. One aquarium up to five gallons is permitted for each apartment. Failure to abide by the above restriction will result in documentation through our Community Standards & Student Advocacy office. Students requesting an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) must do so through the steps and guidelines listed on the Accommodations webpage. Students cannot bring their ESA into residence until approval is granted by Accessibility Services and Residence Life. Students looking to bring a Service Animal into their residential space are encouraged to contact Residence Life. Students may reach out to the Office of Accessibility Services (716-839-8228, access@daemen.edu) with specific questions.

Purpose of Policy

To create and maintain an equitable environment where students have the optimal opportunity to succeed academically, personally, and professionally and where any and all Daemen University Community members feel safe, valued, and respected.

This policy’s virtual location is in the Residential Living Policies section (Section 4) of the Student Handbook –  https://www.daemen.edu/student-life/student-affairs/student-handbook/section-4-residential-living-policies.
